Some encouraging news on the superdelegate front ...

Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA), a Clinton supporter, told The Columbian newspaper on Monday that she believes the superdelegates -- including herself -- should ultimately coalesce around the Democratic candidate with "the most delegates and the most states." “I definitely don’t want the superdelegates to be the deciding factor,” she told the paper.

Similarly, Gov. Phil Bredesen (D-TN) -- a superdelegate who is yet to endorse either candidate -- said this week that “[t]here would be hell to pay in the party for a long time to come” if the superdelegates overturned the will of the Democratic electorate.

Meanwhile, the Clinton campaign continues to remind the pledged delegates whose constituencies voted for Obama that, under the rules, they could switch over to her side if they felt so inclined. Indeed, she's now even referring to them as the "so-called pledged delegates."
