What to make of this Bloomington Pantagraph article posted late Friday night?
Although Tim Baldermann hasn’t filed the paperwork yet to end his congressional candidacy, Decatur native Harry Bond is moving ahead with his own effort to win the Republican nod to run for Congress in Illinois’ 11th District.
Clearly, Harry Bond (right) was none too happy with the rash of news reports last week declaring Martin Ozinga III the GOP's choice to run against State Sen. Debbie Halvorson in the 11th. The Pantagraph article doesn't explain what "moving ahead" entails, nor does it quote Bond or anyone close to him. However, it gets across his point: I'm still in this.
The Ozinga folks, meanwhile, sound pretty confident. According to a recent Quad-Cities Times article, they're already gearing up to raise money and form a campaign team.
I guess we'll just have to wait until the official announcement on April 30th to put this one to rest.
