These photos of Rock Island were taken today by Flickr user Dustin Oliver and clearly show the severe flooding occuring in towns and cities along the Mississippi River (click on images for larger version).

The map below shows the National Weather Service's flood guages along the Iowa-Illinois border. Those purple dots represent areas that are currently experiencing "major flooding."
