Angling For A Victory, Ozinga Brings In ... Cheney? (UPDATED)

After spending months trying to tie Democrat Debbie Halvorson to our extremely unpopular governor, 11th District GOP congressional candidate Marty Ozinga has apparently decided to tie his own horse to a politician with truly dismal approval ratings -- Vice President Dick Cheney.

There's no doubt this event will help fill Ozinga's campaign coffers in the critical weeks before Election Day.  But is it really worth the awful optics?

UPDATE (10/11): From a Halvorson press release:

"Marty Ozinga bringing-in Vice President Dick Cheney for an exclusive fundraiser is just further proof that Ozinga doesn't get this district, its economic hardships or its values and concerns," said Brian Doory, campaign manager for Debbie Halvorson. "While the Bush/Cheney economic agenda may have benefited millionaires like Ozinga and Cheney, they've led to the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and middle class families are paying the price.”
