Quinn Skips Transit Meeting For D.C. Trip
Gov. Pat Quinn told Chicago-area public transit officials he'd meet
with them yesterday to discuss their unstable budget situation.
Instead, transit leaders met with Quinn's staff members as the governor
flew to Washington to lobby for grants for military members and their
families.

The Illinois Department of Revenue;s website now features a list of 100
businesses and individuals that owe the state a combined $6.3 million
in back taxes.

The Obama administration last week released the first round of data

stimulus plan. But a Tribune
analysis says those statistics, produced by the Illinois State Board of

Abortion Foes Wary Of Notification Delay
Abortion critics are not happy with the Illinois Department of
Financial and Professional Regulation's decision to issue an extension
allowing the Medical Disciplinary Board to temporarily avoid enforcing a law
that requires parental consent for an abortion.
City Council Bemoans Library Cutbacks
During budget hearings yesterday, Chicago aldermen criticized a
proposed 20 percent cutback in library branch hours at a time when
circulation is climbing and neighborhoods are in dire need of
safe-havens for young people.
