Quinn Suspends Early Prisoner Release Program
Gov. Pat Quinn has suspended his early release program, which allowed hundreds of inmates to be released before the end of their prison terms by earning credit for good behavior. The decision follows an AP investigation that found some inmates with past convictions for drunken driving, battery, and weapons violations were let go weeks after committing a crime.

Gitmo Detainees Coming To Illinois?
While White House officials downplayed the significance of a leaked draft memo, sources still say the Obama administration has settled on a plan to relocate Guantanamo Bay detainees to the Thomson Correctional Center in northwest Illinois. An announcement is expected shortly, which will begin the process of acquiring the nearly-vacant facility.

Blagojevich's Lawyers Seek FBI Interview With Obama

The number of new H1N1 cases is declining statewide, meaning anyone in Illinois who wants the swine flu vaccination will be able to obtain it starting Tuesday. 

Castro To Lead Illinois Human Rights Commission
On Sunday, Gov. Quinn appointed attorney and former congressional candidate Marty Castro to chair the Illinois Human Rights Commission, which arbitrates complaints of civil rights violations in several areas including housing and employment.
