Last week, we noted GOP Senate candidate Mark Kirk's latest anti-earmark effort, pointing out that the whole thing sounded rather McCain-esque. The AP, meanwhile, used Kirk's latest demagoguery to recall that he was a fan of earmarks not that long ago. (Indeed, he secured $30 million for various pet projects in the FY 2008 spending bill.)
Today, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is keeping the issue alive by slamming Kirk for his about-face in a flashy new web ad. Check it out:

On a related note, the Democratic Senate candidates will be holding their first debate at the Union League Club of Chicago on Wednesday morning.
UPDATE: On a DSCC conference call this morning, Illinois' own Rep. Jan Schakowsky remarked that voters are looking for leaders who have "core principles," adding: "There, so far, doesn't seem to be anything that Mark Kirk has stood for." Listen:
