In case you missed it, the Sun-Times editorial board took Mayor Daley to task over the weekend not only for his derisive comments about city workers last week, but also his subsequent claim that the media had twisted his words:

When you say something in public that you later regret, Mayor Daley, there are two ways to deal with it.

You can own up to it and, if necessary, apologize.

Or you can choose Option B.

Deny, deny, deny.

Claim your quotes were taken out of context.

Gripe that the media are stirring up trouble.

With your recent comments on city workers, Mr. Mayor, you've gone with Option B, a hopeless strategy.
