On Saturday, members of the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization (KOCO) protested on Chicago's South Side in support of a meaningful community benefits agreement (CBA) that would guarantee jobs and affordable housing in surrounding neighborhoods if the city wins its bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games. But in its report on the rally, Fox Chicago missed the point, telling viewers that the group is upset that the City Council is yet to pass an ordinance approved by their finance committee two weeks ago. In fact, KOCO and other members of Communities for an Equitable Olympics (CEO 2106) are upset because the ordinance does not legally bind the Chicago bid committee to follow-through on the CBA, which has the been the coalition's goal from the start. Instead, the measure serves as a non-binding "blessing" from the City Council and Mayor Daley. ABC 7 did a better job with their report yesterday morning:
