Below is an excerpt from Ocasio's stirring speech in opposition to the mayor's budget last November, in which he said that the Daley administration "believes everything and everyone is expendable":
Here's to hoping Ocasio's successor isn't afraid to echo those sentiments. (A pipe dream? Probably, considering Daley himself will select the replacement.)
UPDATE: Turns out Ocasio is pushing for Rev. Wilfredo DeJesus as his successor. Just last year, DeJesus told Christianity Today that “opposing abortion and homosexuality have been the paramount moral issues for him." Jessica Pupovac has more.
