Appearing on CLTV's Garrard McClendon Live Wednesday evening, Ald. Toni Preckwinkle suggested she would take a close look at employee performance if elected Cook County board president:
PRECKWINKLE: You know one of the things that has surprised me is that I've been stopped on the street by county workers who have asked me, when I become county board president, to do something about the people in their office who read the newspaper all day or talk on their cellphones all day. There are a lot of good people in the county who work very hard, and its discouraging for them -- demoralizing for them -- to see that there are others who seem to get a pass on actually doing their job.
Preckwinkle also repeated her earlier statements about Board President Todd Stroger that "this doesn't seem to be the job for him." Watch it:
