IL-SEN: Giannoulias Launches "Grassroots For Alexi"

As part of an effort to engage online supporters as he prepares to run for U.S. Senate, State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias launched a "Grassroots for Alexi" site today.  The site allows those interested to sign up for volunteer activities or to set up their own fundraising pages.  The roll-out accompanied the release of this introductory video:

Giannoulias also posted a diary to Daily Kos today, writing: "Both the President and the people of Illinois will need a progressive advocate as the Senate fights for health care, as it seeks to end two wars, and as it enacts policies that benefit America’s families."

In other electoral news, Justin Oberman has officially declared his candidacy for lieutenant governor and Greg Hinz turns the heat up on Attorney General Lisa Madigan as she continues to stay quiet about her plans for higher office.
