If you're interested in Chicago's tax increment financing (TIF) system or government transparency in general, be sure to read the guest column we posted this week examining the city's new TIF website. Co-authors Max Brooks and Daniel X. O'Neil give the new site a grade of "C-" when it comes to fulfilling the requirements set out in this year's TIF sunshine ordinance.
Today, Chicagoist's Kate Gardiner picked up the story and noted yet another flaw:
[I]f one clicks on too many links (apparently more than four), the site collapses.
We tested the site out on our office computers today and found that this appears to be a problem with Windows browsers in particular. You can add this to the list of needed improvements offered by Brooks and O'Neil.
