Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. resurfaced on the political scene this week.  First, he appeared at a press conference announcing a lawsuit against the Chicago Transit Authority, after which the Reader's Mick Dumke attempted to catch up with him.

Then this morning, he showed up on WFLD's Good Day Chicago and had some kind words for Cook County board president candidate Toni Preckwinkle, saying that she "has the acute acumen and the budget skills necessary to reign in a government clearly out of control" and was the most "impressive" during yesterday's debate on ABC 7.  Watch it:

That sounds like a guy who is preparing to make an endorsement. Speaking of which, Jackson formally announced his support for Gov. Pat Quinn this afternoon at an event in Matteson.  From a press release:

“I wholeheartedly endorse Governor Quinn for re-election,” Jackson said. "Governor Quinn has the compassion to put families first, the vision to put Illinoisans back to work, and the integrity to return honor to state government. Illinois finally has a governor it can be proud of.  I look forward to working with Governor Quinn as we revitalize and rebuild our great state."
