According to Shia Kapos, you could "hear a pin drop" at last night's Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation dinner when Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias strode across the room to shake the hand of a "startled" Mark Kirk.
Today, it was back to the battle, however. Kirk is hosting a closed-door fundraiser with Sen. John McCain in Chicago. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee responded with a conference call this morning in which former Senate candidate Jacob Meister and local Iraq War veteran Trevor Montgomery challenged Kirk and McCain to better explain their opposition to repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
