More than 20,000 jobs and close to $200 million in additional annual revenue is what Illinois stands to gain if proposals to expand the state’s gaming industry go forward, according to the findings of a new study released this week.
State Sen. Terry Link (D-Vernon Hills) is pushing a bill to replace the
entire board of Metra with members appointed by the governor. Link says
reforms put in place following revelations that former Executive
Director Philip Pagano took $475,000 in unused vacation time have not
gone far enough.
