Joseph Aramanda, a former business associate of Tony Rezko, took the stand
in former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's corruption trial this morning and
testified that his former boss asked him to orchestrate a plot that
would have provided kickbacks to Blagojevich's inner circle through a
deal between the state's Teachers Retirement System and an investment
firm named Glencoe Capitol. The defense, whose strategy has been to blame Rezko for all of the corruption of which Blagojevich is accused, argued that Blagojevich was not slated to receive any of the money from the crooked deal.
