Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker raised $48 million in his bid to stave off challenger Tom Barrett in today's recall election. Meanwhile, Barrett pulled in $19 million Barrett, according to the non-partisan Wisconsin Democracy Project.
Tom Barrett won the Wisconsin primary election and will face Scott Walker in the general election in June. A poll by Marquette University Law School has found that the Republican Wisconsin governor and Democratic challenger Barrett are in a dead heat.
United Wisconsin, a coalition of state residents and organizations who want to see Gov. Scott Walker recalled, is reporting that some 50,000 signatures have been collected in the first 48 hours of the official petition campaign.
