One last time, we updated our Democratic state candidate fundraising spreadsheet, adding in contributions (over $500 dollars) filed since last Wednesday night. The column on the left contains the newest data. Take a look:
In the governor's race, Dan Hynes closed strong, garnering big donations from Godfrey-based lawyer John Simmons ($94,500), Cook County Assessor James Houlihan ($25,000), the Construction and General Laborers' Districe Council of Chicago ($50,000), IBEW ($26,750), and the Illinois Political Action Committee For Education ($100,000). Thanks to $100,000 in family donations, Terry O'Brien led the pack in the Cook County Board race, although Toni Preckwinkle still has more cash-on-hand. And Scoot Lee Cohen, who has blanketed the airwaves with his job fair ads, tossed in another $55,000 of his own money.
The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform has more up-to-date campaign finance data for the gubernatorial, U.S. Senate, and Cook County board president races.
