In a last-ditch effort to save 1,100 jobs and spare Chicago Transit Authority riders from service cuts set to begin this weekend, Mayor Daley will meet with CTA union leaders at 4 p.m. today. Chicago Federation of Labor President Dennis Gannon isn’t optimistic any deal will be reached. The city has asked for sweeping worker concessions to plug their operating deficit.
