The Sun-Times' Fran Spielman asked Mayor Daley and and some of his aides about the possibility of former inspector general and unsuccessful Senate candidate David Hoffman challenging him in 2011.  "I don't know why you're asking about him," the Daley responded.  And an unnamed "mayoral insider" said, "This guy has never had a bad story yet. Not even when he did bulls--- investigations that never went anywhere. .... [H]e's never been in a fight, you guys keep touting him and he hasn't done enough to warrant any negative stories."
