Although a meeting yesterday afternoon between Mayor Daley and CTA union leaders restarted previously-stalled negotiations about how to plug the agency's $95 million budget hole, the two sides failed to reach an agreement. That means commuters can expect major service cuts beginning Sunday, the first since 1998. Over 1,000 CTA employees will lose their jobs as well.
