One year after retiring as Chicago's Deputy Clerk and collecting his first pension check, State Rep. Daniel Burke (D-Chicago) set up the firm Burke Cornell Consulting Co. to lobby the city. His company -- which is housed within the same building as his brother Ald. Ed Burke's (14th Ward) government offices -- has pulled in more than $310,000 in city lobbying fees since 2005. And the Sun-Times reports that Ald. Burke has voted to approve city contracts and subsidies to those very companies.
