Illinois election officials are scheduled to finish counting absentee and provisional ballots today. Their final tally should make clear who clinched the Republican gubernatorial nominee. At last count, State Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale) trailed State Sen. Bill Brady (R-Bloomington) by 400 votes. Today's results will remain unofficial, however, and whichever candidate comes in second has the right to ask for a "discovery recount."
