NBC 5 has learned that Tammy Duckworth is taking herself out of the running for the lieutenant governor vacancy on the Democratic ticket. A favorite of Gov. Pat Quinn,  Duckworth will release a formal statement explaining her rationale this afternoon. Update (2:54 p.m.): The Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet has posted Duckworth's statement here.
