By a wide margin this morning, the Illinois House passed a bill (HB 5820) allowing for the joint  nomination of candidates for the offices of governor and lieutenant governor. The idea gained popularity after primary voters in both parties elected self-funded political neophytes as lieutenant governor position this year.
