Marilyn Stewart, president of the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU), accused Chicago Public Schools CEO Ron Huberman of using "scare tactics" to try to solve the district's $700 million budget crisis. Huberman delivered a Powerpoint presentation to principals Monday detailing possible spending cuts -- including increasing class sizes to 37 kids and potentially displacing 3,200 teachers. To avoid layoffs, district officials are asking CTU to reopen its contract.
