Top party sources say suburban lawmaker Sen. Susan Garrett (D-Lake Forest) is a leading choice of Gov. Pat Quinn for the vacant lieutenant governor nomination. Garrett met privately with Quinn this week after chief of staff Jerry Stermer contacted her Sunday about the post. The Democratic State Central Committee is planning on interviewing candidates for the vacant job in four cities Saturday.
