Today, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mirk Kirk held an under-the-radar fundraiser -- his second in two weeks -- this time featuring former New York mayor and Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani. Kirk's campaign didn't announce the luncheon event, held at Petterino's in downtown Chicago.

UPDATE (5:30 p.m.): From a Giannoulias campaign press release:

"Congressman Kirk and fellow Republican Rudy Giuliani couldn't agree more on the idea that exorbitant, taxpayer-funded Wall Street CEO bonuses are wonderful," Alexi for Illinois Communications Director Kathleen Strand said. "After taking millions of dollars from big Wall Street banks and corporate special interests, Mark Kirk voted five times against reforms that would help rein in tax-payer funded CEO bonuses."

Wall Street bank defender Giuliani recently stated that the enormous Wall Street bonuses Mark Kirk has fought to protect are "wonderful."
