Yesterday, the Senate Executive Committee passed a bill (SB 2925) requiring county clerks to conduct early voting, grace period registration, and grace period voting on state college campuses. The legislation, which is intended to boost student voter turnout, was amended slightly since passing the Elections Committee earlier this month. The revamped measure exempts community college campuses and will be considered a pilot project, meaning it will require renewal after the fall election. It now moves to the full Senate.
