Illinois' unpaid bills will likely increase by $1 billion within the next three months according to a quarterly report issued by Comptroller Dan Hynes. The report said the unpaid bills could cause "further erosion of the state service infrastructure." Hynes' office also noted that a fix by May is unlikely: "[T]here appears to be limited options left for the remainder of this fiscal year to substantially mitigate these conditions."
