Thanks to a boost in both government and business service jobs, Illinois' unemployment rate actually fell from 11.5 to 11.2 percent in April. The state added 19,000 jobs, the fourth consecutive month of increases. "The job market in both the nation and Illinois is beginning to show signs of improvement," said IDES Director Maureen O'Donnell.
