With most of the precincts reporting, Congressional races in Illinois' 8th, 10th, and 14th districts are still too close to call. In the 8th, with 77 percent of precincts reporting, incumbent Democrat Melissa Bean is leading Republican challenger Joe Walsh, 50-47 percent.
In the 10th district, which was seen as a possible Democratic pick-up, Republican Bob Dold is leading Democrat Dan Seals, 52-48 percent with 85 percent of the precincts reporting. And in the 14th, incumbent Democrat Bill Foster trails State Sen. Randy Hultgren, 51-45 percent, with 75 percent of precincts reporting. Other closely watched races, including Democratic incumbents Debbie Halvorson (11th) and Phil Hare (17th), show Republican challengers with double-digit advantages.
UPDATE (10:23 p.m.): The Sun-Times has now called the race in the 11th for Kinzinger, the 14th for Hultgren, and the 17th for Schilling.
