Fresh off State Sen. Bill Brady's concession in the gubernatorial race today, Governor-elect Pat Quinn told reporters he wants to "energize the people of Illinois" to take on great causes at a late-afternoon press conference in Chicago. He also had a message for members of the General Assembly: "I want our legislators in both parties and both houses not to be timid," Quinn said. He cited veterans' issues as one area where Democrats and the GOP could work together. Responding to a question about a possible income tax increase, Quinn said, "I see it as revenue investment in people" and their ability to create and secure jobs.
