The Chicago Coalition for Mayor, a group of black pols and civic leaders, has chosen
U.S. Rep. Danny Davis as their "consensus" mayoral candidate. Davis was
not among the finalists identified one week ago. Hopeful Carol Moseley
Braun, who was passed over because she had not held public office in
over a decade, criticized the choice. "We will learn who the real consensus candidate is on election day," she said in a statement.
