State Rep. Arthur L. Turner (D-Chicago) resigned his position today, while his son, Representative-elect Arthur Turner, was sworn in, according to a press release. The new representative ran unopposed in the November 2 election. The elder Turner held the seat in the 9th district, which includes Chicago's West Side, since 1981. He lost the Democratic primary for lieutenant governor in February.
