U.S. Sen.-elect Mark Kirk will be sworn in today, replacing Roland Burris as the junior Senator from Illinois. Almost immediately, Kirk will vote on key bills such as the food safety legislation sponsored by Sen. Dick Durbin and the possible extension of former President Bush's tax cuts.
