The U.S. Senate voted 81-19 to approve of the tax cut compromise pushed by the Obama administration. The deal, which will extend tax cuts for the rich for two years and unemployment benefits for 13 months, moves to the House where some Democrats are hoping to change a provision on the estate tax. That amendment is expected to fail. Both Senators from Illinois -- Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk -- voted "yes" on the package.
