In a move meant to unify black voters in Chicago, U.S. Rep. Danny Davis dropped his bid for mayor yesterday and endorsed Carol Moseley Braun. Flanked by Moseley Braun and State Sen. James Meeks, who withdrew from the race last week, Davis said, "In unity there is strength. In strength there is success." Earlier in the week, Davis and Moseley Braun reportedly met to discuss the possibility of one of them dropping out of the race to succeed Mayor Richard Daley.
