Newly-disclosed court records show that former Gov. George Ryan was allowed to visit his ailing wife, Lura Lynn, on Wednesday. A court filing by prosecutors says that Ryan was released by the U.S. Bureau of Prisons to be with his wife at a Kankakee hospital for two hours. Ryan's attorneys had filed a motion Wednesday for his release following news that Lura Lynn Ryan had just hours to live. The visit came despite objections from prosecutors.
