U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez is asking for the release of a former leader of the Chicago wing of a Puerto Rican separatist group. Gutierrez says Oscar Lopez Rivera, who has served 29 years in federal prison after leading the FALN in Chicago, should be released on parole. Lopez Rivera is serving time for seditious conspiracy, armed robbery, and two failed attempts to escape from prison.
