Foreclosure filings in Illinois dropped significantly last month. A total of 9,592 foreclosure-related filings occurred in February, a drop of 44.6 percent compared to the same month last year; the number of filings was down over 27 percent from a month ago. Still the foreclosure rate in the Prairie State is the 11th highest in the country.
