Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart will accept the Community Leader Award from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York on Tuesday evening, the sheriff's office announced this afternoon. The committee giving out the award praised Dart for his "humane and innovative approach to enforcement of the law during difficult economic times," including Dart's approach to the mortgage foreclosure crisis and online prostitution issues.
