Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says that the University of Illinois is breaking the law by withholding Freedom of Information Act requests from the Champaign News-Gazette. The university has turned back inquiries from the paper about the steps taken in the process of hiring Michael Hogan as the university's new president. Madigan says that the university must either fulfill the News-Gazette's FOIA request or ask for a court review within 35 days.
