The Chicago City Council Committee On Energy, Environmental Protection and Public Utilities approved the Clean Construction Ordinance today, a bill that will require firms with city construction contracts worth $2 million and more to reduce the diesel pollution their vehicles and equipment emit starting in Jan. 2014. Passage of the bill has the support of the mayor as well as groups like Citizens Action and the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago.
