The Renaissance Schools Fund has announced a $60 million venture fund to help build 50 charter schools in Chicago. The fund will focus on duplicating successful charters found in Chicago and bringing in new ones from out of state. The group is also changing their name from "Renaissance" to "New Schools for Chicago," and is hoping to represent 20 percent of the Chicago Public Schools district in five years.
