Veterans Affairs Assistant Secretary Tammy Duckworth resigned Monday. Duckworth, of Hoffman Estates, is rumored to run for the U.S. House in the 8th District should the new remap be approved. In 2006, she ran for the 6th District seat but lost to Republican Peter Roskam. Duckworth is a major in the Illinois National Guard and lost both legs during a tour in Iraq.
