Equality Illinois has tapped Randy Hannig for the advocacy group's Director of Public Policy position. Hannig is a Springfield native who will be coming to the organization from Speaker Michael Madigan's office, where he was a member of the senior staff.

"Randy brings the skills that our movement needs in order to succeed legislatively and to win at the ballot box," said Jeremy Gottschalk, Chair of Equality Illinois Board of Directors.  "The entire Board is excited about Randy joining the Equality Illinois family."

Hannig is looking forward to his new role at Equality Illinois, saying "I am nothing short of excited to have been chosen as Director of Public Policy for such an esteemed organization. I look forward to working with elected officials, local activists, and community leaders to make Illinois a better place for LGBT citizens to live and work."
