U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-2) says he will vote against the debt deal. Jackson Jr. says the deal will negatively affect those who are most vulnerable, including women, Latinos, African Americans, and Asians. He is also calling for women and minorities to be included in the committee that will recommend what programs should see the planned funding cuts.
U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh (R-8) says he will vote against the bill as well, while U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk says he will vote for the plan. Meanwhile, the Sun-Times is reporting that U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-3) seems to be undecided on how he will vote on the debt deal.
