Gov. Pat Quinn is hitting back at Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel on Chicago casino as proposed in the state gambling bill. Emanuel has pushed for the casino, saying earlier this week that he would spend revenue on schools, roads and public transit. Quinn said that would be "putting the cart before the horse" and suggested the mayor do his homework by meeting with the state gaming board chairman.
Currently, the bill remains in limbo. State Senate President John Cullerton put a hold on it for fear that Quinn would veto. And Quinn has not yet disclosed if he would sign off on it, only saying there are concerns.
